The Fund has been established to honour and preserve the legacy of Rev. Fr. James Pathinathan, a devoted advocate for human rights, social justice, and the wellbeing of the people of Vanni. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly to uplift vulnerable communities, offering compassion, guidance and unwavering support to those who needed it most. His commitment to dignity, equality and opportunity continues to inspire our mission.

In his memory, the foundation is dedicated to providing meaningful support to economically disadvantaged students in the Vanni region. Our goal is to ensure that every young person—regardless of hardship—has the chance to access a quality education, pursue their aspirations and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Through this Fund, we strive to continue the work he began, carrying forward his spirit of service and hope.
